This large 1 cm tablet was analyzed using the DuoScan™ adaptive optics; by rapid laser rastoring this creates a macro-spot (in this case matching the 100 µm step size) ensuring that the full surface area of the tablet is analyzed. The resulting image shows the distribution of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), excipients and binders.
