CO2 separation/capture and storage/sequestration to reduce CO2 emissions during manufacturing and power generation
HORIBA contributes to CO2 recycling through separation and capture, as well as production of fuels and chemicals through carbon resource recycling, using a wide range of measurement technologies and solutions.
To achieve carbon neutrality, alongside the transition from fossil fossil fuels to renewable energy and carbon-free fuels (such as hydrogen and ammonia), it is also important to reduce CO2 emissions by capturing, storing and fixing various greenhouse gases, such as CO2. Furthermore, making effective use of the recovered CO2 through capturing, storage, sequestration, and recycling along with biomass, plastic waste, and carbon resources is essential. Recycling and the social circulation of carbon resources are expected to contribute to carbon neutrality by ultimately reducing CO2 emissions.
Currently, various technologies enable the utilization of carbon resources. These include Carbon Dioxide Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS), which directly captures, stores, and repurposes CO2; technologies for producing fuels and chemicals for mobility using biomass as raw material; and plastic waste recycling technologies. R&D, demonstration and practical applications of these technologies are actively progressing.
