PoliSpectra® RPR enables efficient monitoring of bioprocesses and drug discovery workflows
Piscataway, NJ March 4, 2025 HORIBA, a global leader in analytical and measurement technologies, proudly announces the launch of the PoliSpectra® Rapid Raman Plate Reader (RPR) for Raman High-Throughput Screening (HTS). RPR technology enables efficient monitoring of bioprocesses and drug discovery workflows with rapid, non-destructive analysis of 96 wells within one minute.
Raman HTS of 96 liquid wells offers a streamlined alternative to slower traditional methods. The system features full automation, including a motorized door, dedicated software, and server access for seamless integration with automated liquid handling systems or with robotic arm microplate loaders.
PoliSpectra® RPR performs non-destructive analysis for real-time monitoring of reactions, and its patent-pending rapid Raman reading technology, along with a Plate Heater, supports live process monitoring through rapid plate reading and transfer, at reaction temperature.
RPR’s Control Software offers OPC-UA or REST API interfaces for automated integration with standard pharmaceutical systems.
For all of the above reasons, using Raman Plate Readers in HTS saves on R&D investments (including CAPEX) as it is non-destructive and faster than MS, HPLC and IR processes.
“RPR was designed to support time-sensitive applications in drug discovery and formulation development and to address challenges faced during pharmaceutical drug development,” said Aashish Tuladhar, Ph.D, Raman Plate Reader Product Manager at HORIBA. “Our RPR technology provides a unique combination of ultimate sensitivity, speed, and automation integration, empowering researchers to monitor reactions in real-time and optimize processes more efficiently”
